Graycliff Estate Research

Dr. Lubienecki's work on Frank Lloyd Wright's Graycliff estate in Derby, New York has proceeded across three forms: his Buffalo State master's thesis, a book published by Edwin Mellen Press, conference presentations, and popular history essays. The research spans both the architectural history of the estate and the story of its preservation by the Piarist Fathers.

The Timon Reliquary, Cathedral of St. Joseph

During his tenure as archivist at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Buffalo, Dr. Lubienecki discovered a nineteenth-century reliquary that had been stored and largely forgotten. He established its provenance as a gift from Pope Pius IX to Bishop John Timon, the first Bishop of Buffalo. The reliquary is now on permanent public display at the cathedral. He documented the discovery and its historical significance in a 2017 article for Western New York Heritage Magazine.
